Women Change Makers: Taking Action for Social Justice

When you study the history of social justice movements, it’s easy to get the idea that all of our progress has been brought about by a few key people. The truth is, that real, lasting social change can only be achieved if we all participate.

The women featured in this video have taken real action for social justice. Some of them are well known, others less so – but what connects them is an unshakable commitment to working for social change. The small, incremental shifts toward a more just society can only be made if we all contribute.

Research these women further or come up with your own list of women social justice heroes. How do they make an impact? How do these amazing women inspire you to become a change maker – and what will your contribution be?

Find the companion poster (PDF | Word) in the 2017 women’s issue of Voice.
