MANAGER, EVENT SERVICES
TEMPORARY VACANCY (12 MONTHS)

The Manager, Event Services is responsible for registering, coordinating and managing all aspects of onsite and offsite ETFO provincial functions and events using the Event Management System (EMS).  The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Leading the catering and conference liaison team and collaborating with service areas to deliver impeccable service and outstanding guest experiences to our members;
  • Budgeting meeting room rental and catering food revenue in conjunction with meetings;
  • Having a hands on approach to planning and executing all meetings and events from initial contract negotiations to final payment;
  • Developing and implementing effective department processes and procedures to ensure all service areas and departments receive essential event and program details in a timely and comprehensive manner;
  • Establishing and maintaining strong vendor relationships;
  • Checking MRM for upcoming meetings to ensure all details have been captured;
  • Meeting with staff to discuss events being held onsite and offsite where appropriate;
  • Meeting with conference liaisons, IT, Shipping, and event organizers to determine events requirements;
  • Arranging President‘s meetings in co-operation with the General Secretary;
  • Assisting senior staff with all aspects of the Annual Meeting;
  • Liaising with hotels as needed;
  • Other duties as assigned.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Proven experience leading a team to meet target goals with a positive, supportive leadership style;
  • Strong customer service orientation and a team player with the ability to establish collaborative working relationships;
  • Strong organizational, administrative and time management skills;
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written;
  • Ability to lead and motivate staff;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills;
  • Proven abilities in decision-making and problem solving.
